Twenty-nine years of increasing responsibility in information technology, culminating in the following recent strengths: 29+ years as a Trainer delivering technical classes; professional demeanor as Certified Technical Trainer (CTT), delivering technical classes for VMware and EMC2, Inc. on the topics listed below.

  • VMware vSphere 4 and Virtual Infrastructure (VI3) instructor.
  • Nine years of experience with storage area networking (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) technologies related to EMC2, Inc. hardware:  Storage arrays (Symmetrix, CLARiiON); NAS (Celerra); FC switches; management software (ControlCenter, Navisphere, etc.); business continuance, DR solutions; UNIX and Windows host-to-SAN connectivity; and logical volume management on UNIX platforms including AIX, Solaris, HP-UX.
  • Strong skills integrating VMware virtualization technologies with EMC storage technologies.
  • Articulate courseware developer, translating technical material to methodical, sequenced learning experiences.
  • Proficient database administrator (DBA) / developer / project manager:  Produced 35,000+ lines of code & stored procedures for SQL (MS SQL Server, other) databases and apps (data warehouse, financial).
  • Knowledgeable systems/network administrator:  Managing Windows (NT - 2003) environments, including clusters, IP network services (DNS, WINS, DHCP etc.), as well as UNIX variants (HP/UX, Solaris, Linux, AIX, SCO) - including daily.

  • Developed and delivered networking management seminars introducing performance tuning, load balancing, and protocol monitoring.
  • Project managed several Association of Banyan Users International (ABUI) conferences.
  • Implemented and administered a 3,000 node Banyan Vines/TCP/IP/DECNet Network for a major engineering firm interconnecting IBM, Digital, and Intergraph graphics workstations and peripherals.
  • Managed the operation of all systems for a large-scale mortgage lending institution.  Systems that ran the companies mortgage front-end processing and servicing software included Nixdorf, IBM, CICS, Honeywell, and multi-vendor client workstations.

  • EMC Deliver Mainframe Business Continuance Courses for both Local and Remote Replication.
  • Developed and taught all level of PC courses from entry level through programming. Software included Word, Excel, Project, Project Workbench, Access, Approach, dBase, Lotus Notes, and Banyon Vines.
  • Developed and taught numerous mainframe courses including Entry Level Programming, COBOL (most versions), JCL, TSO, VSAM, VSAM Fine Tuning, File-Aid, Abend-Aid, Xpeditor, IMS, Comparex, Database Concepts, MicroFocus COBOL, MainFrame Express, EasyTrieve and SyncSort.
  • Developed policy and procedure manuals, technical manuals, training guides, and user manuals for numerous companies in the Northeast.
